NJ STATE VFW COMMANDER, WILLIAM THOMSON, PRESENTING BRONZE MEDAL TO MARILYN AND WILL FOR FUND RAISING EFFORTS FOR VFW.
June 21, 2011
Mr. William F. Thomson
VFW State Commander
Department of New Jersey
560 Hoover Avenue
Township of Washington, NJ 07470
We are so grateful to you and the New Jersey State VFW for the honor
you bestowed on us last week. Receiving the VFW Bronze Medal for
service to the people of New Jersey is a humbling experience.
We share that honor with all of the Ace In The Hole staff and artists who donate their fees at our Veteran's Day Benefits.
But more importantly, with the hundreds of Ace In The Hole guests who support our efforts both financially and emotionally.
Every day is Veteran's Day at Ace in The Hole, where we always make a
point of honoring Vets in the audience, as well as the men and women serving our Nation currently.
It's a small gesture, but we know it's important to Vets and their loved ones that someone say Thank you. We care!
This award inspires us to work even harder on behalf of Veterans. We
pledge to continue raising both funds and awareness as long as there
are Vets to thank and help.

2nd Annual Gala Benefit
in Conjunction with NJ State VFW
Featuring a Star-Studded Cast of Entertainers & Musicians
Every day is Veteran’s Day at Ace In The Hole and we honor our brave American heroes whenever we gather. But on November 11th, the Veterans are the stars of our show!!
Our 1st Veteran’s Day Gala Benefit, in 2010, was a huge success. We raised nearly $6,000 for the New Jersey VFW. Beloved Ace In The Hole artist and musicians volunteered their services for a rip-roaring fun-filled, and deeply moving, All-Star Show. And it’s all happening again, with a BRAND NEW SHOW — November 11th, 2010 — one day only. Come and be a part of this important and stirring event. All of the profits (and we mean ALL profits) will be presented to the New Jersey VFW on the spot.
Veterans wear your caps and medals. Everybody bring your flags, your hankies and your dancin’ shoes. ‘Cause we’re raising’ the roof, while we raise some much needed cash for this most worthy cause.

Please join us in honoring America’s Veterans. Not just on November 11th or
on Memorial Day - but each and every day! Brave men and women have been
putting their lives on the line for this Great Nation for over 230 years now. But
rarely in our history have Veterans been confronted with such monumental difficulties
as they face today. Our all-volunteer military is totally overwhelmed, fighting
two very long wars. Injuries are many and they are frequently catastrophic. Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder is epidemic. So many returning Veterans are not
receiving the help they and their families so desperately need and deserve.
And, when the Veteran’s Administration is as over-burdened as it is today,
Veterans of all ages suffer! It is a disgrace that so many Veterans - young and not
so young - are not receiving the care and respect this nation owes them. This is
not a political issue. It is a moral and ethical issue. Regardless of one’s politics, we can all agree that not enough is being done. So let’s all get together and help!
What can we do to help?
- Start by educating yourself about the plight of our Veterans - (Visit the
websites we have listed below. Call these organizations for information.)
- Spread the word - tell your family, friends, clubs and congregations that
we all have to help - now! Write letters to the Editors of your newspapers,
call into talk radio shows, etc. We can’t wait for this problem to
- Write your elected representatives in Washington and demand adequate
funding for the V.A. Insist that Veterans be treated with respect and dignity.
Insist that promises be kept and needs be met.
- Pray. Volunteer. Donate time, items or money, if you can. Together, we can help. Together we can honor those who have fought for
our Democracy. Remember that democracy is not something we have - it is something
we do! And remember - Everyday Is Veteran’s Day!
God Bless America’s Veterans - past, present and future!
